Research interestsThe ecology and taxonomy of carabid beetles (Carabidae), diversity Coleoptera, biodiversity monitoring, biocenology, quantitative ecology, conservation ecology, paleoentomology.
ExperienceThe most important field work 2022: Participation in an expedition to the analysis of the obtained results for the presence of species included in the Red Book of Ukraine and Appendix 6 of the Berne Convention. Survey of the area adjacent to the quarry for the presence of types of natural habitats included in Resolution 4 of the Berne Convention. 07/2021: Expedition to the territory of the sewage treatment plant in order to assess the impact of sludge fields of urban sewage treatment plants on animals, including red book species that live within the boundaries of the city of Zhytomyr and the Zhytomyr region; 2018 – 2020: Participation in an expedition of the environmental projects: to assess the impact of wind energy on ecosystems and their resistance to this factor, Ukraine. 05-07/2012: Expedition to the river Raba (Malopolskie wojewodstwo, Poland) in the frame of the science project “Renaturalizacja ekosystemow rzecznych srodkowej Raby – analiza entomologiczna”, with colleagues from the Institute of zoology, Jagiellonian University (Poland). 09/2011: International Expedition to mountains – Rila, Stara Planina (Bulgaria) in the frame of project „Избор на изпълнител за картиране и определяне на природозащитното състояние на природни местообитания и видове по утвърден списък и минимизиране на рисковете за дивите птици в рамките на проект “Картиране и определяне на природозащитното състояние на природни местообитания и видове – фаза І”. With colleague at the Institute of Biodiversity and Ecosystem Research Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. 2009-2010: Expedition to South Ukraine in the frame of of the project «The inventory flora and fauna Tiligul Regional Park in connection with the use of land for wind energy» with colleagues from the Schmalhausen Institute of zoology. 2009: Expedition in the territory of the Steppe Nature Reserve of the “Mykhailivska Tsilyna” in the frame of of the project “Development management-plan on restoration meadow-steppe biocenosis at the department Ukrainian Steppe Nature Reserve of the Mykhailivska Tsilyna and its guard band” with colleagues from the Schmalhausen Institute of zoology. 2009: Expedition to floodplain of the Sejm river (Ukraine) in the frame of the project “Sejm River as model object of forming international ecological corridor between Ukraine and Russia” (Program Euroregion “Yaroslavna”), with colleagues from the Sumy Pedagogical University and Schmalhausen Institute of zoology. 2008: Expedition to floodplain of the Psel river (Ukraine) in the frame of the project “Ecological estimation consequence of regulated Psel River dam of the Nizovskoj hydroelectric power station”, with colleagues from the Sumy Pedagogical University and Schmalhausen Institute of zoology. 2007: Expedition in the territory of the Steppe Nature Reserve of the “Mykhailivska Tsilyna” in the frame of the project “Development recommendation to limit of processes degradation on territory of the Mykhailivska Tsilyna (Ukrainian Steppe Nature Reserve)”. 2005-2006: Expedition to north-east of Ukraine in the frame of the project “Participation public organizations in the study, preservation and renovation of the ecological state of the small rives of Ukraine” (Small Environmental Projects (SEPS II), British Council Ukraine). 2004-2005: Expedition to north-east of Ukraine in the frame of the project “Study of the Bytycia River with the purpose of detection wetlands which perspective to give for status wetlands of international importance” (Program Wetland International) with colleagues from the Sumy Pedagogical University. 1997-2001: Expedition in the territory of the reserve Khukhrians’kyj (Sumy district, Ukraine) in the frame of the project “Evaluation real state biodiversity of the Vorskla river and floodplain lakes in the reserve Khukhrians’kyj”. 1997-1998: Expedition in the territory of the reserve Vorohzbianskyj (Sumy district, Ukraine) in the frame of the project “Reserve – myth and reality” (Program Biodiversity, WWF).
Some other scientific accomplishments 09/2011: Expert in the project „Избор на изпълнител за картиране и определяне на природозащитното състояние на природни местообитания и видове по утвърден списък и минимизиране на рисковете за дивите птици в рамките на проект “Картиране и определяне на природозащитното състояние на природни местообитания и видове – фаза І”. Bulgaria. 2005: Participation in the Sixth Framework Program of European Community – ALARM for BIODIVERSITY, general objective of the project was developed an integrated large scale risk assessment for biodiversity as well as terrestrial and freshwater ecosystems as a part of environmental risk assessment; at the Jagiellonian University, Poland. 2005: Participation in the science project Rapid Biodiversity Assessment method to compare insect diversity of different management practices of meadows; at the Jagiellonian University, Poland. 2004: Participation in the project “Landscape Development, Biodiversity and Cooperative Livestock System” – insect biodiversity; at the Jagiellonian University, Poland.
