Research interests

The biodiversity, morphology, phylogeny and palaeobiology of marine and brackish-water Miocene and modern gastropods inhabiting the Mediterranean, the Black Sea, the Sea of Azov as well as continental water bodies of South-East Europe

Field work experience

2016 – 2017: Participated in two field expeditions in the Kazakhstan Caspian Sea region under the EU Horizon 2020 PRIDE research Program

Participated a field expedition in the Kazakhstan Caspian Sea region under the EU Horizon 2020 PRIDE research Program (October 2016).

Assisted to organize and participated two International Expeditions to Dnieper-Bug estuary and Odessa Black Sea region with the EU Horizon 2020 PRIDE teams. 1-st: Alberto Gandara, Manuel Perez and Matteo Lattuada (May 2016); 2-nd: Thomas Wilke, Justine Vandendorp and Arthur Sands (June 2016).

October 2008: International Paleontological Expedition to Kerch region (Crimea) with colleagues from the Natural History Museum Vienna (Austria): Dr. Mathias Harzhauser, Dr. Oleg Mandic, and Prof. Martin Zuschin

2003: Paleontological expedition to the Eastern Coast of the Black Sea (Abkhazia)

October 2003: International Paleontological Expedition to Kerch region (Crimea) in the frame of joint Paratethys project with Prof. Klaus Bandel (Hamburg University) and Dr. Steffen Kiel (Berlin University)
