SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS

Molecular biology and ecology of hard ticks with a focus on prevalence, extension and genetic characterization of tick-borne pathogens of medical and veterinary importance. Interactions between vectors, pathogens and hosts.

Systematics, phylogeny and biology of Trichinella (Nematodes, Trichinellidae) parasites.

 

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION

2002 - Diploma of the Department of Veterinary Medicine of National Agricultural University of Ukraine, Kyiv (highest honors). Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.

2002 - 2005 - Postgraduate course, Schmalhausen Institute of Zoology NAS of Ukraine, Kyiv.

2007 - Degree of Candidate of Biological Sciences (equivalent of Ph.D.), Schmalhausen Institute of Zoology NAS of Ukraine, Kyiv. Dissertation entitled "Trichinella (Nematoda, Trichinellidae) of wild animals in Ukrainian Carpathian and Polesie" was defended February 2007.

2015 – Member of organizing committee (Chair in the Schmalhausen Institute of Zoology NAS of Ukraine, Kyiv) of the 3d Fascination of Plants Day 2015 in Ukraine.
