Research interests

Systematics, morphological evolution, phylogeny and ecology of gastropod Molluscs inhabiting the East-Mediterranean and Ponto-Caspian Basin. Also broad interests in gastropod paleontology, biodiversity and biogeography. Currently I’m especially interested in of some Caenogastropoda, mainly rissoids and hydrobiids using mainly morphological and paleontological approaches

 

Experience

The most important field work

2016 – 2017: Organized the Caspian Sea expedition in Kazakhstan (2016, 2017) and Azerbaijan (2017) under the EU Horizon 2020 PRIDE research Program

2016: Organized two Black Sea expeditions for the EU Horizon 2020 PRIDE teams. 1-st: Alberto Gandara, Manuel Perez and Matteo Lattuada (Dnieper-Bug estuary, May); 2-nd: Thomas Wilke, Justine Vandendorp and Arthur Sands (Odessa region, June)

October 2008: International Paleontological Expedition to Kerch region (Crimea) with colleagues from the Natural History Museum Vienna (Austria): Dr. Mathias Harzhauser, Dr. Oleg Mandic, and Prof. Martin Zuschin

June 2007: Joint Expedition to Crimea (Jurassic in the Planerskoe region) with Dr. Steffen Kiel (University of Leeds, UK)

June 2004: Joint Expedition over the Kiev region with Prof. Dwight Taylor (USA)

October 2003: International Paleontological Expedition to Kerch region (Crimea) in the frame of joint Paratethys project with Prof. Klaus Bandel (Hamburg University) and Dr. Steffen Kiel (Berlin University)
